Romanian Travel Wishlist

Romania is rich in places to visit, things to do, epic scenery and stunning wildlife.  Charming towns, bustling cities, beaches, mountains, lakes and valleys.  Its history is diverse and unique.  If you’re looking for a country that has it all then Romania is for you.  This is my bucket list of the places I wish to visit on my future travels to Romania.  I’m adding new places all the time and if you have any recommendations please let me know!

Castle Corvin 

A stunningly foreboding castle in Hunedoara.


The ancient Dacian capital set in the Grădiştea Muncelului – Cioclovina Natural Park. 

Bears’ Cave

A cave in the Apuseni mountains where 140 bear skeletons were found.

Turda Salt Mine 

The stunning Salina Turda salt mine near Cluj is a museum, health and recreation centre.

Poenari Castle, near the famous Transfăgărășan road, was the home to Vlad III the Impaler.

A village near the Bulgarian border on the Black Sea, Vama Veche is renowned for non-mainstream tourism.
